Homemade Body Bronzer Lotion
Whip up a little homemade body bronzing lotion before going out for the evening and spice up the night! This bronzing lotion recipe makes 14 oz of tinted lotion that is perfect for spraying on your neck, cleavage, arms - anywhere you want a little shimmer!
4.5 oz jojoba
1.0 oz evening primrose oil
.3 oz emulsifying wax
.2 oz beeswax
8 oz distilled water
.14 oz phenonip preservative or germabenII
Empty spray bottle
Your choice of micas: cappuccino, gold, light gold, copper mica
Add the emulsifying wax, beeswax, jojoba and evening primrose oil to a double boiler and melt the waxes and oil together. Do not boil the mixture!
Add the distilled water to the heated oil mixture and stir well to combine. Next add the Phenonip and use a stick blender to emulsify and mix thoroughly.
This base lotion must cool thoroughly before it will set up. Once the base lotion is completely cooled and fully blended, it should not separate and you can add the mica mixture of your choice.
You will want to experient how much of each mica you use based on the desired effect. If you want a darker shade, use more Cappuccino, more of a burnished look, add more Gold or Copper, etc.
Blend thoroughly with a whisk or the stick blender and transfer to the spray bottle.
Always add less mica to begin with - remember you can always add more but you can't take it out of the lotion base. A good ratio to follow would be:
1 Tbl Light Gold Mica
1/2 Tbl Copper Mica
1/2 tsp Pink Mica
