Scrumptious Lotion Bars
These solid lotion bars are postitively yummy in the way they care for your hands - you'll want to stash one in every handbag! They make amazingly popular gifts for friends, and also extremely popular at craft fairs.
This version of the lotion bar does not have cocoa butter, so you can put together many light and wonderful fragrances without having to worry about the finished lotion having a chocolate undertone.
4 oz shea butter
4 oz beeswax
5 oz liquid oil (jojoba or grapeseed)
2 tsp essential oil or fragrance oil
Melt the beeswax in one container, and the shea butter and liquid oil in another. Once thoroughly melted, mix together and stir well. Stir in the essential or fragrance oil and then pour into containers. The mixture will harden in about 1 - 2 hours.
Tip: If you let the mixture cool before pouring it into the containers, it will help prevent the sunken areas often seen at the top of the bar.
