Oatmeal Silky Bath Soak
If the winter is leaving your skin less than ideally touchable, try this oatmeal and milk bath soak recipe to bring back the silky soft skin you love!
With no fragrance or irritating chemicals, this bath soak is gentle enough for young children. The oatmeal and milk combine to calm and moisturize dry, itchy skin. The naturally sweet scent of oats and milk will relax your senses as the soak smooths your skin.
1/2 cup oatmeal 1/2 cup powdered milk Cotton muslin bag
I like to use rolled oats for this recipe, and the first step is to grind the oatmeal in a blend or food processor until very fine. Mix the oatmeal and powdered milk together. Add the apricot oil and stir to distribute evenly.
Place the mixture inside a muslin bag and add to the running water of a nice hot bath. For extra softening, you can use the wet bag as a soft exfoliant and gently glide the bag over your body while in the tub for even more attentive softening.
You can add essential oils to the mixture or directly to the bath. The recipe as outlined below will not make your tub extra slippery, as the base recipe does not contain oils.
